COMPOSER
Lance Gurisik started his journey into music later than most. He first picked up a guitar when he was 16 and started teaching himself how to play along to his favourite bands. He was advised soon after to audition as a composer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he completed his honours in composition under the guidance of Michael Smetanin.
In the years following, Lance toured and released music as an electronic artist playing festival slots and venues all around the globe.
He has collaborated with artists such as Ngaiire and Antony & Cleopatra and has done remixes for the likes of Rufus and The Presets.
In-between touring and releasing his own music he wrote the music and songs for the ‘Bondi Hipsters’ web-series and also scored ABC/NBCU’s ‘Soul Mates’ season 1 and 2. He received an ARIA nomination for best comedy release for one of the shows featured songs.
He has since scored the TV series ‘The Other Guy’ and countless advertisement campaigns for the likes of Tiger Beer, Champion, MasterCard, Citibank, Tourism Australia to name but a few. His work hasn’t gone unnoticed and Lance has racked up awards for being apart of projects such as Tiger Beer ‘Melting Pot’ which won a silver AWARD.
This year Lance kept himself busy scoring many Australian short films of very different styles, including ‘Jackrabbit’, ‘Hitchhiker’ and ‘Ghost Turd. All three films have been picked up by film festivals across the globe such as the Sydney International Film Festival and Hollywood Comedy Festival.
2019-20 will see a new body of work released under his own name exploring his passion of combining both electronic and organic palettes.
